We wound up with a light dusting this morning in Harrison, TN (just bordering Chattanooga). The sun is shining, and even though it's still below freezing most of the snow is disappearing, which is fine by me. I grew up in Minnesota, but I don't like the snow any more at my age.
I have lived in Texas for so many years (30 some) and do enjoy cooling off. Humidity here is rough on my head though. Went through TN mountains in Oct. and it was nice - just didn't have time for the full change of color. A week longer would have been nice. Those nasty fires were just beginning...... I though people were just burning trash in a couple spots and came to realize it was the very beginning of what was to come. Horrible.
Got a light dusting of snow yesterday here in Dallas. Supposed to be 21°F today.
We got about 6" of the white stuff. I'm not too worried though since I have plenty of wood cut and split for the wood stove. Food lion only had one loaf of bread late yesterday and it was squashed, but that's okay cause I only went there for the Honeycrisp apples. Bought about $5.00 worth. You know, the old saying about an apple a day------
I remember when I first moved to NC from upstate NY, I ran a bread route and they were calling for about an inch of snow my boss told me to make sure I over filled my stores and left plenty of backstock because the stores would get wiped out, I LAUGHED at him.....Boy did I learn my lesson...I coulda filled a baggie with doggie poo and it would have sold..
The snow gets too bad it's time to call Cheech and Chong.
the weathermen predicted snow here and made such a big deal of it.
the gro. store shelves were emptied and people were in a tizzie to
get the gro. and hurry home before the storm started, and we didn't
get one flake. lol! but it's cold and 18 degrees this morning. brrrr!
