In looking on another site I came across this camera holder/shoulder mount that is supposedly made by Kirk. I can find no mention of it on the Kirk site and wonder if it is discontinued? I think it might work for the Nikon 200 -500mm lens I am buying.

I think that Gitzo and Manfrotto also made those, so their sites might have them. Also try B&H photo video. They have everything for photography.
Good luck

Since I am not sure what to call it using the search feature on B & H's web site is not easy.

I have this model by Polaroid: https://www.amazon.com/Polaroid-Video-Stabilizer-Support-System/dp/B005MRXPE4/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1483717730&sr=8-1&keywords=polaroid+video+chest

I last used it at a wedding with my Canon 7D Mk II... I was not the official photographer at the event -- simply a family member. The device is pretty handy for a heavy camera such as mine (with dual batteries).

Then just check out other shoulder mounts, lots and lots of companies make them!

I have been, though this unit has the fewest adjustment points which I see as better than the ones I have seen on Amazon. The more places there are adjustments the more places there are for the thing to come apart.

It looks exactly like my Manfrotto Shoulder Mount, made in the late 90's and now discontinued. They pop up on Ebay occasionally.

Gunstock mount. Had one. Worked fine, especially for moving subjects.

This could be an alternate stabilizing option, with the benefit of additional uses.

An interesting article on the why and when to use. It's a much bigger problem for film makers, but it might help decide which would be effective.
