Stay away from Abes's of Maine. Grey market and bait & switch Cameta has a D7200 refurb for $749 with free shipping, a 1 yr warranty (through Mack) and no tax outside NY. Similar deals at B&H and Adorama. They also all have packages. I find if you call, you can get even better deals on packages (ie speak with Peter at Cameta)
Also Nikon is releasing new cameras now. This usually winds up with price drops on current models if you want new.
Good luck!

I would recommend B&H. I have done business with them and their customer service is really good.

Hey fellow Hoggers, has anyone done business with ABE'S of Maine Photography? I am looking for a 7200 body to buy in early March and would consider a used unit if anyone has one.

I bought things two times from them, in the 80's, when they were in Maine, and decent to deal with. By the 90's they moved to Brooklyn, I believe, and there was pressure to buy stuff I did not want, but still sold USA warranties material. I disliked the 90's buying experience so much that I decided I would not shop there any more. It appears they have gotten progressively worse. I have purchased refurbished Nikon bodies, lenses and flashes from Nikon USA, Adorama, and Camera Camera, all with great success.

Abes's of Maine is now located in Edison, NJ. They have more than enough bad reviews and lack a BBB rating to make anyone think twice about buying from them. Plus they went out of business in 2013, but reopened with "new" ownership but kept the old name effectively absolving themselves of any prior liabilities. The bigger issue is that while they sell a wide range of products, they are not authorized resellers so any guarantees they offer are bogus.
Having bought from the big 3 and also KEH, they are all legit companies that back up what they sell. Yes, we all look to save money but there's a difference between finding a good deal and throwing good money after bad.

I agree with MAS24 on refurbed. And I respect the common advice here that is to go with BH, Adorama or Amazon as your vendor.

I don't know much about Abe's but I don't see the respect for them that the three vendors above get.

I've bought refurbs for my travel and walk around kits. I have a D90 and a D5500 that I bought refurbed and have never had a problem. One from Adorama and on from B&H. The D90 must have a gazillion clicks on it by now. A few weeks ago, when I was considering a D500 vs D7200, and new vs refurb vs gray market. In the end, I decided to go new and get discount and extras that were being offered.

Still, I would definitely feel fine about buying a NIKON REFURBED D7200 from Adorama or BH again, without concern. Currently it's an astonishing deal for a great camera. Make sure it's refurbed by Nikon and not the vendor if you get one.

First time posting.
During many years on nikonians.org, I heard over and over, "stay away from Abe's." So, no firsthand knowledge, but certain I'll not buy there. As for B*H, love their honesty, efficient, expertise, and efficiency.

Yes, I too recommend B&H. I too just picked up a refurbished D7200 at that decent price. No complaints. No regrets. Great camera!

You bought a grey market camera. Hopefully it will serve you well, however Nikon will not touch it if it ever breaks or malfunctions

I am curious about refurbished cameras. Looking for a D750 and would go refurbished, however, do you get everything like a manual and such as if you bought new?

Cameta is a great place to buy refurbished Nikons. Full one year warrant and free shipping. http://www.cameta.com/Nikon-D7200-Wi-Fi-Digital-SLR-Camera-Body-Factory-Refurbished-89746.cfm?utm_campaign=cpc&gclid=CJ_C4M_X The cameras I've bought there always had a low shutter count and looked exactly like new.
