HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Hey, gang! I haven't been posting here lately. Here, at the studio, the period between late summer and Christmas is insane so there is little time for any extracurricular activities or any kind of fun!

Just wanted to stop by and wish the crew here a HAPPY, successful, sweet and creative NEW YEAR filled with creativity, love of family and craft and good health.

As a new year's resolution, I have begun to clean out my studio storage area...what a mess! The stuff I was saving for props for my food and beverage commercial work is enough to fill a small department store. Surprisingly enough, I found an old sample wedding album that I made in 1971. The prints were made on fiber-base color paper and are still in perfect condition. I'll scan and post some of them as some as I have a chance. I was surprised that, back in the day, I was not too bad a wedding photographer. What I loved about that old album is that there was an emphasis on family relationships, parents and a little more of the religious aspect of the wedding day. Some of that seems missing nowadays and some of the weddings that I have covered lately are just big parties with too much booze! I guess I am just getting old. There were a few of those in-camera special effects like double exposures. I always though some of that stuff was too corny but in retrospect, some of it was not all that bad. When I post them, y'all can tell me what you think.

Again, best wishes for a great 2017. Ed

Great to hear from you Ed. I agree with you about the changes in the meaning and feeling of wedding ceremonies. I must be getting old too. I miss the emphasis on love and family, vs who can outdo someone else, and who can get the most drunk.

Ed, I am old, but relatively new to photography. When I look back at my wedding album done 40 years ago I am in awe of the skills of the photographer. Great exposures and composition including some double exposures. This was all done without chimping, looking at histograms, and fixing any problems in photoshop
