College Football is a favorite sport of mine. I went to a New Years Eve house party early, and the Ohio State vs Clemson game was in its last Quarter. Final Score, 31-0. Unbelievable. Michigan lost 33-32 to Florida State in the Orange Bowl the day before. Not a good year for two accomplished football teams from the Big Ten Conference. Ohio State is still licking its wounds. College Championship will now be Alabama vs Clemson. A rematch of last year's Championship. Alabama won that one. Who will win this time?

I watched the Ohio State/Clemson game to. It would've been a better game if Ohio State team had shown up because they were definitely some place else.

Alabama, if they show up, will take it. I think it will be a rout.

Ohio State thought their past reputation would win the game for them. Clemson was just a better team, overall. Alabama defeated Clemson last year in the Championship game 45-40. Not quite a rout. Should be a great game on January 9, 2017 in Tampa, Florida.

I'm an Ohio State fan and I couldn't believe my eyes watching the game. They couldn't run or pass, I thought they would come out in the second half and do a much better job, but you're right, they just didn't show up. That was down right embarrassing.

Myer was out coached by Sweeney. OSU could not adjust to Clemsons changing defenses nor could they stop Watson. We will see if he can do the same to Saban.

Clemson, of course. Then next year we can have the "playoff" for the National Champion.

This just proves that old adage the football is all about surprises. How times have you seen a fired up underdog bury a top dog. That is what makes college football popular - everyone has a chance to shine.

A lot of folks thought Penn State should have been in that game instead of Ohio State. Penn State beat Ohio State in the regular season and won the Big 10 championship. The voters, on the other hand, thought Ohio State belonged in spite of the loss to Penn State, that they played a tougher schedule, and Penn State suffered a horrible loss to Michigan. Seems like the OSU supporters, led by Urban Meyer, convinced the selection committee OSU had a better chance of beating Clemson and eventually Alabama than Penn. Not having a particular interest in any of the teams involved, I just wanted to see a game that would keep my interest. This one did. Go Tigers!

A lot of folks thought Penn State should have been... (show quote)

Both Ohio and Penn State have storied football programs, but Ohio State has the longest membership in the Big Ten Conference, and Michigan. It came down to wanting the two most popular winning championship coaches. Nick Saban and Urban Meyer for a championship showdown between the two. It didn't happen for Ratings. Now, it's Nick Saban's show now. If Alabama wins two championships back to back, Saban will be ordained King of Alabama, if he isn't already.

I worked at Ohio State for a couple of years so I was rooting for OSU but I really like Dabo. Clemson spanked Ohio State. Meyer is a great coach but Sweeney gave him a lesson. I hope they can surprise Alabama like that.

Saban may not have been coronated but he does have a larger than life statue outside Bryant-Denny Stadium on the Alabama campus. He already has back-to-back National Championships....2011 & '12...and it would have been 4 in a row if 'Bama had won in 2010. Smartest move he ever made was going back to the college game after a disastrous shot in the NFL.

Ohio State is the prized football team in Ohio. Since the Cleveland Brown and Cincinnati Bengals are substandard teams. You're living in Texas, and have an abundance of college teams to be a fan of, including the pro Cowboys and Texans. Both in the NFL Playoffs. The UT Longhorns, last won a college Championship against USC (California). Neither college has returned since then.

The SEC has sorta ruled college football for the last several years. Now, with the emeregence of Dabo at Clemson, a newTiger is on the prowl. The game next Monday is certainly shaping up to be a classic, a remake of Neb/okla 1971.
