I've looked all over for a remote shutter release for my t3i. Can anyone help me? I have a wireless but that doesn't help me unless I'm in front of the camera because that's where the sensor is. Thanks in advance.

I bought one from Amazon that worked great and it wasn't expensive; the brand was Apeture (not Aperture)

It was about 35.00 and worth it.

It will do bulb mode, lock shutter open, interval shots, timer shots etc.

I asked same question few weeks ago for my T3i. Was helped by another member, DavidT ( my post was om May 3rd) I ordered the 16 channel one from Cowboystudios that he suggested and it works great. I can be in another room and cleck remote and it fires every time. Very grateful for his help. also had help from a member in using Cowboystudios wireless 4 channel remote for my external hot shoe flash.

I love how helpful people are on this BBS.

You can also use a timer release controlller, TC-80N3, on the T3i. It is a cable remote release as well.

It is not cheap but it will do just about anything. I use one and love it.

I use a remote release also.
Heres the product info on the one I have :
The manufacturer is:
YONGNU wireless flash trigger,..(made in China)
I use it strictly as a remote trigger for my Nikon D300 on my tripod,...not for flash.
The YONGNU Model I have is #RF-602/N.
I saw a YouTube video about it and decided to try it.
I must say it works flawlessly,.very convenient..comes in handy in freezing winter temperatures making exposures from inside my warm coat pocket.
The stated effective range I believe is 300 feet.
The product is camera specific so check and see if your camera is compatible.
I purchased mine thru Amazon for around $35.00 last year.
As I said YouTube has a demo video you can watch.
Hope this info helps,...the others suggested sound interesting too. Always good to have a selection before parting with the $$$$

Thanx

Just to be sure...you're looking for a remote (wireless) shutter release for your Canon T3i and not a wireless flash trigger. If so, here's the link: http://www.cowboystudio.com/product_p/gd-c1r.htm

Thanks DaveT, I am not quite sure how to post links on the forum yet. The one I got is the Cowboystudio 16 channel wireless shutter remote trigger. It cost $25.00 ordered direct from there website with free shipping. Shipping was very fast. It works great. Just be sure to read the entire description to get the one that is compatible with your camera. I also have their 4 channel wireless flash trigger remote, it also works great.

Just so things are clear the 16 channel remotes are very common. It allows you to choose one of 16 different fequencies so you fire your camera and not the persons camera next to you.

If you are in a group and your camera starts shooting and you didn't push the button change your channel and it should stop.

I shoot with the T2i and use a (Yongnuo RF-603 C1) and it works great. It is good up to 300 yards. Works with IR technology.
