Hi UHH friends. I have read reviews on both the Canon 60D and the Canon 7D. I would value any information you can give me based on your experience with these cameras. I'm upgrading from my first DSLR which is a Rebel XS. I shoot mainly landscapes and people, but not sports and/or wildlife. I also don't think I would be shooting videos. I use a 50 mm, a 17-40, and a 28-135. Thanks for your help.

buy the 7d if you got the bucks. a fabulous camera. has dual digic image processors....takes very low noise images at really high ISO settings. i have the 7d and the 5d mk2, and the 7d is my favorite camera. it's the top of the line aps-c size sensor before jumping to full frame.

Thanks so much...one of the reviews I read said that they had trouble with the focus...getting tack sharp images. Have you noticed any of that...also, was there a steep learning curve associated with this step-up? Thanks. Linda

Very happy with two 7D's. Great ISO performance, very good focusing system, great versatility, user friendly, and once you get the hang of it you will enjoy it much more. By the way, the video is spectacular should you decide to venture into using it. Highly recommended! best wishes...

Thanks so much...reviews are great, but I love hearing from people who actually use the product. I think in the next couple of months or so...I'll get my 7D!

no problems with the focus..manual and auto. the autofocus is quick. i am selling my 5d because the autofocus hunts and hunts. i am spoiled by my 7d.

there is no steep learning curve on the 7d.

i keep thinking something has to be wrong with my 7d....because there is absolutely nothing wrong with it. it's an over-the-top great camera. i am thinking of buying another 7d to have as a backup.

buy from a local source, adorama, bhphoto or national camera or someone that has great reputation and has a 30 day refund policy in case you don't like it. you will not be disappointed.

i bought both my 5d and 7d from national camera in minneapolis.

if you have a local camera shop that sells them....take a compact flash card and take some sample shots there. then bring the card home and check out the photos. i drove to minneapolis on a friday, went into the store and took photos, stayed overnite and checked out the photos friday nite in the hotel, then went back and bought the 7d on saturday. wished i would have done that when i bought the 5d, i would have returned that one. the 5d is a nice camera, but the autofocus in low light drove me nuts.

good luck on your purchase!!!! and from what i hear, there's nothing wrong with a 60d! i just never tried one.

The 7D (I have two) really excells at shooting action like sports and wildlife which you say you do not shoot.
For people and landscapes I expect the 60D will be fine.
But...if you can swing it, get the 5D MKII as that camera is made for the subjects you shoot and being FF it will possibly produce a better image for your type of photography then a 7D.

I have a 7D upgrade from XSi. I just don't get this sharp learning curve thing as the 7D is a very user friendly camera. The "Q" button brings up most of the info you need then use the swiggle button to make your changes. Have had no issues with auto focus.

hi buddy!! i have the 5dmk2 and the 7d....if i take photos with both and lay them on the table....you can't pick out which ones were taken with which camera. 5d, besides being full frame, has another advantage...6400-10,000 ISO still takes great pics. my only problem with the 5d is the slow autofocus in low lighting.

Thanks to everyone...sounds like the 7D is the way to go. I don't live near a camera store. Would ordering from Amazon be ok?

Just to throw in my two cents worth - my nephew has the 7D and let his uncle play with it - wow, makes me think i should switch from Nikon to Canon. His photos were tack sharp.
