Have not posted for ages ... this shot from my drone (Phantom 3 4K) over a local man-made lake near my home ... as you can see we have had some snow ... the dynamic range of the camera on the drone has always amazed me :) ...

Is this a screen capture from video or single shot? I always wonder how drones work. Nice shot!

Nice. My daughter gave me a THE HUBSAN X 4 for Christmas . I have not tried it yet. It looks complicated for a old man. It does say age 14+.

I started with that same drone ... probably one of the most important steps to flying a drone successfully - you can crash that thing many many times and the camera will probably stop working pretty early ... BUT then - you muster up the courage (and $$$'s) to buy a Phantom or similar - and suddenly it's a different story - all that crashing and lessons learned on the smaller one WILL pay off - I am no expert (by no stretch of the imagination) ... but I have never crashed my Phantom - I have courage (some call it stupidity) to fly it over water ... the Phantom has beginner mode which limits distance and stuff so you can build up expertise ... and I go on record - it's the BEST toy I have ever got :) ... (besides my boat, of course) :)
Check out some video I took this year when weather was warmer https://flic.kr/p/JJkNJQ ... (btw - when I used the drone recently in below zero weather - I nearly crashed because of cold battery - lesson learned :) ) cheers Phil
