We have quite a few running around here along with some really cool looking frogs. This is the second time I have had to rescue one from the watering station. My husband took an old cat litter container and cut the bottom off to protect the timers and the walls are slick and to high for them to get out now I will have to keep checking throughout the summer so they don't get stuck to long. They are really cool and fun to take pictures of. They are quick little buggers though.
My boys used to catch them all the time, they were sure they would be able to leash train them.... No Horned Toads were harmed in the experiment, the boys finally gave up.
He was quit a little character. He didn't even seem to mind me holding him. They will squirt blood out of their eyes if they feel threatened but he just accepted me hold him up in front of the camera trying to focus with one hand... I'm sure he was happier when I put him down next to our apricot tree tho.
