Photoshop Elements 10 problem

I just installed PSE 10 only to find that it freezes (Not Responding) every third or so time I try to open NEF files with XP PRO SP3. Is anyone else having this problem? Adobe hasn't been much help so far.

Have you checked to see if your video card is up-to-date? Mine wouldnt run on one old computer and that was the problem. I am now trying to delete Elements 10 since I have it on 3 computers and they are threatening to disable them all if I don't delete one. I can't get in touch with anyone at Adobe who will help. The techs on line don't have a clue and you call them and get put on hold for an hour.

With PSE 10, the NEF files are pretty large.
What are your computer specs?
This is usually a sign that your computer isn't going to cut it and needs to be upgraded.

My specs are way more than Adobe specifies. Yesterday the app froze trying to open a 2570 KB jpeg file. I am waiting for Adobe supposrt to get back to me on their original effort to resolve the problem.

I have a fairly new computer, 3 hard drives, lots of space, and yet I am having the same problem. It is most frustrating. I was going to try reloading Photoshop, however, I have added files in brushes, and plug-ins which would make it a problem to reload it. I might add, I had this problem before I added the extra brushes and plug-ins.
