Visited Cade's Cove, GSMNP, and took the opportunity to photograph this wonderful church.
Any explaination on the impromptu box in the middle of the "congregation" with the brick cross would be nice.

The rectangle in the middle is probably where the stove/heat source once was with bricks under it. The missing bricks were probably souvenirs for someone.
Just guessing. Did you happen to notice the ceiling above this spot?

This was a Primitive Baptist church, quite a bit different from a Missionary Baptist church.
