I recently weaned myself away from the mouse and converted to pen for editing in Lightroom and Photoshop. I just wanted to give a thumbs up to Wacom and say it is more accurate and really speeds up the work flow for me. It takes a day or two to get used to it but once you learn the mouse will seem antiquated. I have the medium tablet but the small may be a good alternative for less hand action. Have you considered a tablet? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=weeINJl77r4

I have used a Wacom Tablet for the past 10 years. Would not attempt photo work without it.

My experience is most people that try the tablet give up. I tell them to force themselfs to use it for about 3 days or so before giving up and returning to the mouse. Seems however that most still give up....I dont use it for everyday stuff, but for photoshop and corel it is a must for me.

In learning the pad...don't look at your hands, just pay attention to the monitor to see where the cursor is going. That helped me a lot and luckily I'm on of the ones that didn't have any trouble catching on to it.

My pad does the same thing...the slider may jump with I lift the pen. I've had 2 pads that do the same thing. I think the pen/pad is so sensitive that if you don't lift up the pen fast, the pad reacts to slow hand movements. Getting the pen away fast means the pad can't track the pen movement.

I have an Intous 4 Professional large that I am selling due to a personal physical problem. I only used it for about 30 minutes.
Good price for the holidays. Original packaging.

I have thought about trying the Wacom tablet, but have done no research yet. I heard it was difficult to set up and get working properly. Any truth to that?

No truth at all, the easiest thing you will ever do. Like coloring in a book or writing a letter. or drawing.

I could never master the use of the pen and touch pad of the Wacom so stayed with a mouse. The Wacom was easy to set up. It now sits on a shelf collecting dust.
