The downloads are really very good Corky and the photos are lovely sharp shots.Great stuff.
I've carved a number of ducks and song birds over the years. Your work is excellent. Do you plan on painting the bird? I learned under Clarence Blanchard who's work has been displayed in the US Capitol rotunda. We have used oil paint and are able to blend areas for a natural look. This is a great hobby.
Corky, this is fantastic and I'm glad you shared your talents!!! I wouldn't paint this either, it's beautiful just the way it is, the details are unbelievable!!! I hope it stays out on display and not put away with your Christmas decorations!! Just add a pretty red bow around the neck!!!
Very nice shots, also!!
....and I got nervous when I went to your other post and I couldn't see the pictures, glad you reposted in jepg!!
Absolutely incredible looking, detail is ecxellent. I'm jealous of your ability.
Amazing work. Erv here on UHH also does quite a bit of carving himself, if you'd like to compare notes...

Well done Corkey! I'm a fan of this specialized and highly artistic branch of woodcarving. Your Wigeon is beautifully carved and I understand your reluctance to paint it. Thanks for reposting these.
Regards, Phil
Thanks very much, Jim and also for the three thumbs up. I think I struggle with this computer even more than I did carving the Ducks!

Thanks, Bruce, it's a learning curve like just about everything else and it becomes a little easier with each one you carve, but I never got to the point that it was really easy because you keep trying to breath life into those wooden feathers. We used to attend a number of the carving exhibition and competitions and one of the major ones was the Wards Foundation's annual carving competition in Ocean City, Maryland and it included categories for full bodied birds as well, and the quality of work was unbelievable.

Thanks for the compliment, Randy, and have mentioned to Erv that I use to carve a little!
