All,
Just a quick introduction. I am a retired (highly recommended) baby boomer living in South Central Indiana, where the Hills of Brown County begin. Returning to 35 mm photography and interested in nature and landscape photography. Hoping that Ugly Hedgehog will greatly reduce the learning curve. Thanks in advance for your patience and advice.

Welcome to UHH.
What are you highly recommended for?
Obviously, he highly recommends retirement! Welcome to the Forum, I think that you will find that most people here use digital cameras rather than 35mm film, but some of the information will stil prove useful for shooting film.

Oops. I was reading it as a highly recommended baby boomer.
Welcome to the forum! Glad to have you with us! Worked in Madison years ago, enjoyed the state.
If you are "returning", it means you've done it before, probably with film. Just curious what brand of film camera you used before. I went from Nikon film to Nikon DSLR, currently with a D5100. I'm continually amazed at the many options and the ease at which I can use the creative tools on this camera alone, and, after several years, feel I've only scratched the surface. Of course, I recommend Nikon, but every manufacturer has its own strong points. If I was you, I'd just start with a basic kit lens and see how much you can do with it. Mine is still on the camera 90% of the time and shoots amazing pictures. Let me know how it's going!
In the 70's, before I distracted by a family and career, I had a Asahi Pentax Spotmatic with several lenses. Not anything like everyone has today, but it left quite an impression on someone who was used to a Kodak box camera.
Welcome to the forum, sir.
Welcome to the forum. I also live in Indiana.
