Not sure how to make the white beads more defined. The white seems yo be a bit blown over acceptable limits. Anyway, here is a flea market photo.

What I like about the cropped photo of the many different kinds of beads is hat there is an enormous amount to look at in the photo.

Part of the reason I cropped it is because I have a recurring problem with focus. Here I crop the original, uncropped version, the top half of which is out of focus. Grrrrr. How can I avoid this ? You experienced photographers here can give me some good advice, I am sure.

These are nice. You did good in capturing the different colors.

Color really fascinates and attracts me. Occasionally someone changes one of my photos into black-and-white and there have been some great results, but in general my mind seems wired to look at color.

This is a depth of field issue.

Depth of field is the part of your picture that's "in focus" as you noticed.

Three things interact to create your depth of field.

1.) Lens focal length

2.) Distance to subject

3.) Aperture size.

You need to look at the online depth of field calculator to see what you need to do to get a deep enough depth of field with these shots next time.

What lens did you use (what focal length?)

How far away were you from these subjects?

Knowing those answers will help you get the right answer.
