Welcome to Day 149 :) We are nearly at the half way point in this challenge... Y'all should be really proud of how far we have come together .. I know I sure am :).
So it's a holiday here in the U.S. and today we are going to see how everyone Celebrates Memorial Day. I do realize this is an early post (pre-celebrations) so don't worry about posting early .. have a fabulous day today .. just take the camera with you LOL.
Here are a few examples to get us started .. I look forward to seeing what y'all come up with.
most people are going to get together at a park or somewhere with friends and family
where the kids can have some fun too
there will be someone taking photos
some playing sports
some just grabbing a lunch in the shade
or a picnic lunch with the ducks
but we can't forget to thank those men and women who put it all on the line to keep us safe
even the one's stationed at home .. taking out the trash
when it's all said and done .. we do have a lot to be thankful for

I didn't have to stay up all night to be first this time. I bet Loguey is still in bed from yesterday. Now I am going back to bed. See you all later.
Flag is still flying
My fathers final resting place
My best friend's funeral 2012
Trust and friendship is essential in combat

I hope I can get some decent shots today. I will miss the parade due to being at the cemetary practicing with our small church group. We will be singing America the Beautiful and Amazing Grace.Have a great day everyone.
PhotoSHERRIE..thank you for the wonderful examples and ideas
Bushido...There is something very moving about taps being played graveside....and you captured it...that last one is special too.
from the archives...maybe later Ill see a parade...and while looking for flags I found another night....maybe you would like to see it.
The story goes that Washington and his men made camp all around this area....there is a name on one stone only...the others are unknown. It would be a nice place to spend eternity...not to crowded and very close to the river.
the next two need no explanation
American Revolution
Vietnam Memorial
Found another night shot

Love these photos, especially the one with the soldier girl! My Husband and I are planning to spend a rare day totally alone at home! So today I will celebrate Memorial Day through the eyes of my UHH friends!

Bushido, do you and Loguey know each other personally or just through UHH? One thing I know, you are both awesome photographers! Your photos for today are amazing, and I love the angle with which you took the photo of your Father' final resting place! (pg. 1)

Nan, I would love to see the American Revolution Cemetery in person. How beautiful! Great photos. I'm sure you must have many such photos living near so many historic places! (pg. 1)
So far, some very touching photos
I do not have anything because we do not celebrate Memorial Day here.
BUT, I can't forget you people who served, and won't forget to thank you either.

Rivernan that looks like a wonderful place to rest. It is beautiful. The second subject is close to my heart. There are names of friends I served with on that wall. You did a wonderful job of capturing it. Your night shot is well done.
