While in Midtown taking a walk about town, I shot a few rolls of 120 film. I've got one developed and the other is waiting 'til I can get to it. From these photos, the last one is my favorite. She was standing on a street corner with a sign advertising some eatery or bar. While I was fiddling with the focus, she looked my way and I got that half smile just as she realized she was being photographed. When I walked away, she seemed to have a look on her face saying: "I'm stuck here holding this sign in the middle of winter; and you are freezing your ass off playing around with a forty year old camera. We're all in trapped in our own personal cages...Now walk on down the street." Crazy week.

Thanks. Some of these I'm pretty proud of. The last one I'm really pleased with. Thank you for viewing.

Yes, this is an interesting group of photos. I like the first one the best--she has a great smile and she's doing something. One thing I don't understand. These people look happy, and I've heard that New Yorkers are a dour bunch. Have I heard wrong? Anyhow, post some more.

These are all nice street photos, and everyone seems to be happy--that's interesting. As for making a selection, I'd have to choose the first lady and the street vendor as my favorites. They are, however, your photos, and you were there, not me, so I understand why you might prefer the last one.

They're all nice shots! My favorite is the first one followed closely by the last.

Well, most of the people in these shots are not New Yorkers. Midtown between Thanksgiving and Christmas is thousands of tourists. The African American woman with the sign is a New Yorker. That photo probably comes closest to representing New York sentiment.

I do like the shot with the vendor, and that woman dancing around was also really nice. I guess I like them all which is why I posted them; but that last shot, for some reason, really resonates with me.
