I have the above camera for sale. It is in excellent condition. I was going to hang onto it because the price has dropped so much but find that I am not using it. So no point in that. Body is weather resistant which is handy. Has excellent in camera stabilization. Has many features and good customization. Works especially well for street and travel due to its small size. VF is spot on- what you see is what you get. Fast and accurate focus and good video capability. I currently use this camera with a Tamron 14-150mm lens which is a great combination but for some reason the price on that has gone down too so will be hanging on to it to use on the Gx8. But if you can pick up that Tamron used you will be quite happy with the results. It also pairs very well with the Olympus 12-40 mm f 2.8 lens- I am the original owner. Will come in the original box with original paperwork. Includes flash, extra battery and remote wired release. Asking 325.00 plus shipping. Paypal ONLY-

You're going to tick off Leica, you know. The very first approximately 500 OM-1 Film camera's were named by Oly as just the M1, which put Leica in a snit. So Olympus renamed the their M-1 to OM-1. (it was better than a Leica anyway, which loyal Leica Acolytes were willing to pay hundreds of dollars more to get the rangefinder focus mechanism). That mollified Leica and their brood.

You can occasionally find the original M1 by Olympus on eBay as here:

Whoops no original M1 olys today... last time I looked there were 4. The original M1 Oly was identical to the OM-1 in all respects, except the black name on the top. It was chrome and black covering.

So, and not to be harsh here, the mirrorless version from Oly is the E-M5. Leica did also make a Leica M5 film rangefinder camera. The camera you are selling is the Olympus OM-D E-M5, at the risk do PO'ing Leica once more (as if I really care), I would call it an E-M5.

I've owned two of the EM5's and they were both superb. Also your price is tantalizing, but I just received a PEN E-PM2 in the mail yesterday.... smaller, not weatherproof, menu driven, but really shirt pocket with a pancake or Oly's lens cap lens, still takes all the inventory of lenses for Oly and Pana.

Surmising how well you must care for your equipment, This post sounds like a plum for someone wanting to break into the near high end of the Olympus 4:3.

Loved both of mine, but I am turning many film cameras all the time. Occasionally a few digital, although they are such losers in a rapid turnover market.

The two digitals that I will buy and sell are usually only Fujifilm Fuji X, and most of the Olympus PEN and OM-D.

Good luck, and you should sell this for your price quickly. It would be an easy eBay 3 day auction, and that's where I mostly sell ----17 years now.

I believe there are UHH members who refer to Olympus' standard 4/3rds-mount camera as the "E-5", as differentiated from Olympus' MICRO 4/3rds-mount camera which is the "E-M5". The item referenced by the OP is an excellent camera, capable of using both its native lenses and, with an inexpensive adapter, Olympus Micro 4/3rds lenses.

Salem.. so are you a SnowBirder. I am in Bend. If anything changes planwise on your sale, I may well be interested in your Camera in Late January. I'm wringing out a Fuji X X-E2 right now, and may be in the market then. I doubt it will be available that long.

I'm a bit tired of waiting for both Fuji and Oly to break the 16-20 Mp place they are stuck in, and may get a Sony A6k or A6300, as they are 24Mp. Trying so hard not to go Sony.............

Salem from May - October and Az the rest of the year. Bend is very nice - I was through there several times last year. Great downtown. Might be a good place to put down roots all year round.
We will see if the camera sells or not. I'm good either way. It's a great camera and I have some nice images from it. Happy Holidays Kuzano!
