Looking for honest critiques since I am relatively new and looking to improve. All were shot on my 7200 with a speedlite flash bounced. Not heavily processed.

She is but has great eyes and the black makes it more of a challenge.

The dog's beautiful, serene-looking face reminds me of an old saying: "If there are no dogs in heaven, I want to go there they go." You've captured the essence of the dog's persona in a marvelous way.

I love the expression on your dogs face in the last picture, very perplexed look. Very nice photos and a great model.

Nice work, especially the last image. Great catch lights in the eyes, a must have for an animal with a black face or head.

Good shots. One suggestion would be to try being at eye level with the pooch.

Love that second shot. You captured the personality, and there's lots of it in that face. The first shot would be better without any background distractions, but that is hard to achieve when indoors and close to so many objects. Off to a great start and you have an adorable model.

Thanks a lot!!! And thanks for the feedback. My wife who is a graphic designer thinks I be turned full time obsessive between reading books and taking the camera every place but she is also enjoying seeing how much I enjoy it.

Hi skornfeld...try clicking on the "store original" when you post your pics...we can see them in a larger size then...you don't need them full size, I usually resize mine to 1050 pixels in height...you have an excellent camera and even looking at the small pics you posted, they look pretty good...I have a D90, a D7100 and just upgraded to a D7200...brilliant camera. What speedlight are you using... Welcome to UHH...
Cheers,
Ron.
