I have had a DSLR now for several years but just now making an attempt at videos. On my first attempt merging clips using Premiere, I have already encountered my first roadblock, of which I cannot find addressed on YouTube tutorials.
When I transition from my first to second clip in either Quick or Expert mode, the video shrinks and I get a red stripe message bar stating, "To avoid extreme cropping set framing to stabilize only or adjust other parameters." What the heck does "set framing to stabilize" mean, and how do I compare parameters of the two clips?
I am working with MOV files, which begs the question should I have selected the MP4 option in my camera?
The only thing I could guess at as being the problem is I applied the Shake Reduction. Perhaps I did not apply it consistently to both clips?
Any help or suggestions would be appreciated!
I use Premiere Pro rather than Premiere Elements but I believe this comes up if the clip is shaky. When you say you applied shake reduction, was that in the camera? Does one clip look shakier than the other?
I saw this answer to your question by googling it.
""To avoid extreme cropping set framing to stabilize only or adjust other perimeters." How do I do that?"
To set framing to "stabilization only", in the effects tab of your clip, under the "Warp Stabilizor" effect, open "Borders", next to "Framing" change it's setting to "Stabilize only"
Hope this helps. I only use a tripod when shooting video. I get seasick if I look at a video with camera shake.
