Just wondering if any hoggers have jumped out and bought the new Motorola moto Z and the add on Hasselblad camera? Looks like that could be a very nice go to pocket camera. I have not looked for any reviews as of yet. Gud day to all.
Add on Hasselblad camera?....LOL.
Just read a newer Sports Illustrated pitching the set up. The cover and photos in an article were all taken with this equipment. Without being able to open up a file and dissect, the images look as good as you'd expect from such a publication. Not my cup of tea however....lol. I'd rather lug by huge D2 and big glass any day.
I just installed a dial on my dumbphone :)

For the price of that phone and the add on, you might just as well get a real camera and be done with it. What are you going to do if one day maybe the phone decided to give up the ghost or when the phone is obsolete? What do you do with the phone if you switch to a carrier with an incompatible network? Really just a gimmick.
I've been seeing the ads for the Moto Z and, in my opinion, Motorola has seriously misread the market on this one.
I just can't see many people wanting to buy add-ons for a smart phone. The phone, depending on the carrier and specs runs $400-$720 and the add-ons run $300 for the projector or camera
$80 for the speaker and $60 for the power pack. It's my opinion what people like about smart phones is their ability to do many things well without needing a bag to carry all of the accessories in.
I may be wrong and Motorola will corner the market but...

Maybe they could make a blender and ice maker attachment. It would be nice to have a portable Margarita maker.

I'm not so sure consumers will stay away from buying the add-ons, even if they are a bit pricey. For many people, particularly the younger generation, the smart phone has become the center of their universe. Many don't even own a dedicated camera or traditional radio anymore... or if they do, they are too busy operating their smart phones to bother much with these external electronic devices. So perhaps easily attachable add-ons may serve as the most ideal path to increase the smart phone's capabilities.

No. I use my phone as a last resort camera. I use it as a phone and for the many apps, but I prefer a real camera for photography.
There have been add ons to the iPhone that while working defeat the other aspects one gets a smart phone for. Smart phones are quite capable photographic tools when they need to be. Technology has reached the point where there are endless combination possibilities. I want my phone to always be ready to be a phone. I would get really pissed however when out on a shoot if my Nikon were to ring.

Where is the value in that? Does Moto have a million apps yet?
The Moto lost its mojo years agogo.

Enjoyed every ones comments and I agree I could not allow it replace my D750. As of this week if you trade a phone at Verizon you can get the phone and camera for under 400.00.

Check with Verizon about taking it on a test drive.
