This is what I feel like saying since we don't know you. With only 2 posts, (1 being this ad), being in hiding, in other words you have not disclosed your whereabouts and could be anywhere in the world, there's no trust. Remember, this is what I feel like telling people, I'm not actually agreeing to purchase your Thinktank even though it is a good deal. You just need to build some trust with the community.

"I will agree to purchase it from you and pay you after it arrives at my house safely. Since I don't know where you are from, and you aren't known here on UHH, I think it's only fair that you trust me, since we have nothing to go on with you when it comes to trusting you. How about it?"

I live in Tucson, Arizona. I am 75 years old. I'm a retired newspaper editorial writer and now do product reviews online. I've sold other products on Uglyhedgehog but I don't advertise frequently. I think you're wise to be skeptical. Nobody wants to deal with a scam artist. I'm just an old guy trying to supplement my retirement income. I'm not out to fleece anyone. Either we trust each other or we do not but I will not ship to a complete stranger without payment upfront. Would you?

Nor would I send a check or Paypal money to a complete stranger in another state first. This is why I sell, and sometimes buy using Craigslist. Cash and carry on the spot in a public place where you are much less apt to get fleeced, robbed or killed. I see that you were selling a camera too. Did someone from UHH buy this from you recently? If so, and if they give some feedback, it may carry some weight with the member toward trusting you. Good luck. I don't really need another bag, but that one is a really nice one and the price is right.

I think I advertised my old Canon T3. It didn't sell so I gave it to my granddaughter. Every time I put something on craigslist I get contacted by scam artists and weirdos. Rarely sell anything of value there, especially in Tucson, which is a low income city. I'm not sure how to make people trust me. People who read these ads come with their own psychological problems, fears etc. I can't fix that. I sold two of these packs a few years ago on UHH with no problem. Either something sells or it doesn't. Thanks for your good wishes.

I always put in my ad not to contact me to buy for someone else and pay extra using Paypal etc. I also say "no scammers" It seems to help because I rarely get those dumb replies now. Sometimes I get a text asking if I will take 1/2 of what I'm advertising it for; I just reply 'NO'. I'm a bit of a salesman though so I don't find it difficult to sell on CL. You can also sell on eBay and usually get what you think it's worth. But they take 12% cut and with CL you get all the money. That's why I usually opt for CL.

I've sold a lot of items on Craigslist and always say 'local sale & cash only'. Still get the occasional low-baller.

eBay is a different tool altogether. I use that for unusual items or those that my local Craigslist area would not have customers for it. It isn't free, however.

On UHH, there are some members that sell items. If they've 'been around' for a while, the risk is lower than for a recent or new member. However, there is no guarantee either way. And, there is no recourse if the deal turns sour, or, worse. In other words, how much risk are you willing to take on that deal? You could lose your money and would not be able to do anything about it.

Just food for thought.

What a conundrum. One has the money, the other the item. Neither trusts the other. So both of you send me your stuff and I will forward it to the other when I get it so you can be sure that you get it. Oh, it will cost each of you 50 bucks for my being a trusted source! Haha. The only thing that works is this. Only deal with something that is so small that if the other does not honor the deal, you are able to take the loss and not loose sleep. Most people are honest, but many are not. So in life sometimes it works and sometimes not.

I've been very lucky on UHH. I've only sold two products here but both times the buyer simply deposited payment in my paypal account and I shipped the item. In both cases I didn't even know what the shipping cost would be until I got the box to UPS and told the buyer I'd email him the receipt and we could arrange payment after I shipped. It worked out fine for all of this. I would never do something like that on Craigslist but I just had a gut feeling about the people who look at UHH, and I was right. It's refreshing dealing with honest people, but of course I'm not delusional. There are bad apples out there and it's best to be cautious.

Which unit are you selling? Your description says: "ThinkTank Photo Airport Roller Pack", whereas, the photos and link are to the "Airport Security V3.0" version. And, I am unable to find the "Photo Airport Roller Pack" on the ThinkTank site. Perhaps you didn't get the model name correct. Please clarify. Thanks.

Sorry about that. It's the one in the photo, the Airport International V. 3.0. Please check back later. I put it on craigslist and a potential buyer who lives a mile from my house says he will come by to check it out later today.
