I bought this 12-60 lens new on Nov. 15, 2016 as a kit lens with a Lumix G85 camera; this is a USA lens, with a full 3-year extended warranty, as verified by Panasonic. Includes hood and caps, but no box. $350.00 including UPS shipping. I accept Paypal; no cashier's or certified checks, please. Lens is in new condition, very sharp images, but I just want a travel lens with a longer range, like 14-140.

I bought the same camera. Have you downloaded the new firmware 1.1? I am having a hard time doing it. I'm sure it's because I have never done it before.

Yes, I have downloaded the new firmware. It was not intuitive, and you don't plug your camera into a computer to do it.
You need to format an SD card and put it in your computer. Then download ver. 1.1 directly onto the SD card. Then, turn off your camera, put the SD card into the camera, turn the camera on, and then hit the play (green triangle) button. Then hit yes when camera asks you if you want to download the new version. BTW, your battery needs to be fully charged or the camera will refuse to do the download.

Goodness...where did you go to download. What site. Can I do it on a Mac laptop or better on a desk top? I really appreciate your help.

http://shop.panasonic.com/support - then enter g85, which takes you to a photo of the g85. click on that and scroll down until you get to the firmware update zip file. there is also an instruction sheet there. good luck.
