This was the last of the great SLRs from Canon. It uses EOS lenses and accessories, it works great. I just shot a roll of TX400 and processed it. Outstanding results. If you've thought about getting back into shooting film, this is the camera you want.

I've got the EOS 1n with the PB-E2 grip and it's a great film body to go with my EOS collection. But it's been sitting atop the dining room hutch for a few years now along with a few other film cameras. Since the last developer in my area has long since closed, using mailers has become rather expensive so there it sits.

That's why I used TX400. Easy to develope at home and then scan to process or print. I'm using film a lot more and finding the fun I used to have in photography. I'm only selling this camera because of neuropathy in my hands is making it very hard to hold onto big cameras. I had to sell my 5D MKiii because I was afraid I was going to drop it.
Anyway, get some TX400 a tank, changing bag and some chemicals and go for it.

You are quite right, I do not part with mine either!!! I still shoot film with it quite frequently and besides it, I also use a Pentax 645 nII (also a stellar performer)!
