Common as dirt in San Diego (where this was taken). Not so common in New Mexico where I live.
And a good looking specimen too.

Nice shot of a gull but some folks in San Diego call them "rats with wings" due to the problems of their habits of stealing food and/or messing-up homes or businesses with their waste. chase
Common here also, not only on the beach but parking lots too...
Wonderful shot of this gull with beautiful surroundings!!
Great shot, excellent download.

They are very common all over the world. However good captures of them, such as this one, are still a pleasure to view.

I've been to New Mexico - not sure dirt is common there, either! Beautiful photo, though - the light is perfect.

Agreed, common on the west coast, and hence their name, western gull. Great example of a mature male. Love the red spot on the bill. And so do the chicks. Common but when well photographed, as here, still handsome. Very nice.

Not sure about the bird but if New Mexico lost it's dirt there would be nothing left.

Only go there if you want to be ripped off and have all of your human and civil rights violated. They specialize in both.
