Living under a socialist goverment.

I said in my last post about this that I will have more soon. Sorry but had some medical problems in my family that I had to take of. My wife's ex was a plumber by trade. They lived in central Ukraine. They were told by the socialist goverment that they needed a plumber in East Berlin. They had no choice but to go to Germany. They had a one year old child but could not take the child with them. She stayed with grandparents for two years until they returned. Every six months they were allowed to return home for a couple of days to be with family. This is the life they had under a socialist goverment.

you guys need to forget about Karl Marx... all of the so-called Marxist socialist regimes were actually totalitarian dictatorships.

...the socialism we talk about here is like in Scandinavian countries where people are wealthier, healthier and happier than their counterparts in the USA.

While aform of socialismmay work in a small homogeneous population suuch as the scandinavian countries it can't work in a large diverse populatio n unless it is enforced by a dictatorship. And by the way the scandinavian countries have a market economy, so they are not pure socialist countries.

Yeah, right, if you can clear the burning cars out of the street in front of your house to go to work, that is. The Scandinavian countries are reeling with crime and over burdened with the influx of the muslim freeloaders their government forced upon them.

Do tell us more Mr. Green. When was the last time you were in a Scandinavian country? It must have been a very long time. They are not doing as well as you wish to portray.

hit a nerve here? ...let's see, I was in Latvia a couple of years ago, in Riga... everyone was driving a brand new car... the higher taxes bring about better schools and healthcare system... so in exchange for paying a little more upfront, they don't pay for exorbitant health insurance and private schools.

...and no one is advocating a pure socialist society here in the US.... you awfully naive if you think that. We already have a mixture of capitalism and socialism...

it's not a binary choice.
