A wonderful combination of angles worthy of printing and framing.

May I ask what camera and lens you were using, as I still enjoy shooting with film cameras? While I have for decades used 35mm gear, I recently expanded into a 645 format film camera. I plan on shooting both b/w (that I'll develop and scan) and shoot some of the better C41 processed films so the cost of shooting color doesn't become prohibitively expensive. Portra 400 is one of those films that I'll be trying in 120 rolls. On occasion, I might use Velvia slide film, but E6 processing on top of film cost puts it in a luxury category.

That snap was shot on Portra 400. No post processing. Tamron SP 24-135 glass. Nikon F100 body. Portra 400, 160 and Elgar 100 are fantastic films. You'll love them.

Dear Kiron Kid,

Was your "Elgar 100" a typo for Ektar 100?

This is a beautiful image. And I totally agree with the Ektar. It shoots beautifully and also scans beautifully.

Again, a great composition and a most interesting combination of subjects.

Since you mentioned it, besides all my old Pentax gear, I also own a Nikon F100 body. The Nikon glass I own are an AF Nikkor 50mm 1.8 D, a 24-50mm 1:3.3-4.5 D, a 24-120mm 1:3.5-5.6 D, and a 70-210mm 1.4-5.6. The F100 is one of the last Nikon film cameras, and is more complicated to use, but I have used it, and I do have a downloaded copy of the user manual. One feature that I consider a plus for this camera is that it uses a bunch of AA batteries as its power supply. I like to use rechargeable batteries and carry a back-up set when out and about with the Nikon gear. I really should use it more...it is a very nice camera.

I use rechargeable AA's in all of my N90's and F100 bodies. And the small lithium batt's in my FM, FE and FE-2 bodies. The N90s body is fantastic and dirt cheap on the used market.
