Hello everyone,
Can someone recommend a good free website to start with for my photography? I am currently teaching at a high school although I would like to get into photography as a past time. I currenlty have a wix website that I use as an example for my students and it is through my school email. I don't want my personal one connected to my school one and it seems Wix will only allow me to connect through the school one.
Thank you for any help you can offer,
Sharon

There are number of good web sites. Zenfolio and SmugMug come to mind. I'm sure that others will have more suggestions.

Flickr is free although you can pay for increased storage and the removal of advertisements.

Have you considered Google Photos?
https://photos.google.com/
All your photos are backed up safely, organized and labeled automatically, so you can find them fast, and share them how you like.

While not free, I find smugmug to be very user friendly. My site can be found by clicking on my user name. Feel free to use my web address for a 20% discount...I've been with them since 2007.

I learned from YouTube. Start with Photography 101. Pick a video. Good luck.📷📷📷📷📷📷📷📷

You could use either Tumblr or Flickr for display if that's what you want, FAA give you a number of free posts I think it was 30 when I started with them if you would like a sales outlet, Bob.

There is a free book on photography at: http://davidsalomon.name/PhotoBook/PhoAd.html
Perhaps it might help your students.

The best place to learn about the technical aspects of photography is Cambridge in Colour

The Adobe Creative Cloud subscriptions provide web space for subscribers. I've been toying with it a bit. You are welcome to take a look, but I'll hasten to add that it is still under construction. https://brucewells.myportfolio.com/

You can find excellent photo tutorials on B&H Photo, Adorama, Sekonic meters, and YouTube. Some of the other posters have mentioned sites to post photos on with public and private viewing options.

I also teach HS photography and have the kids make websites for their photography. I use https://www.weebly.com it is free for you and the kids to use. It is not bad and gets them thinking about what should be on their website. Love to also share ideas of what you are doing with your class.
