Wow! You sure hit the jackpot with these photos. They remind me of the many pleasant hours I've spent wandering through the Western States.
Muchas gracias i vaya con Dios.
Wonderful shots. I wish I had been there to take a few.
We used to go there alot when we were kids, beautiful place and love the train ride. Your right about the cinders.

I considered them a part of the atmosphere of the ride!

Fortunately my wife loves to travel as well so in the last ten years alone we've been to 47 of the 48 lower states plus alaska , Alberta and B C, some of them more than once. We intend to do Washington this summer as soon as she's free to travel from cataract operations.
It's my pleasure to share the images that I have because many people aren't able to do that whether it's health, lack of confidence or whatever their reasons.
Thank you for your interest

Beautiful, My wife and I have rode this Train twice, last time with daughter, son in law and three grand boys.
I have similar photos, yours are wonderful..Thanks for sharing brought back fond memories.
The first ride in June of 1990, we arrived back in Durango in a big hail storm, largest hail stones, I had ever seen..
Neat how they turn train at Silverton, love the shops and had nice lunch there both times, still wearing an old beat up cowboy hat in the Florida sun I bought there on our 1990 trip, last trip as I recall 2007.
