Hello,
I have someone interested in buying digital rights to some of my images for social media.
They will be used to promote a popular half marathon in my area. Will neb used on their
website. I will retain all rights to image. How do you go about pricing for this?

I've sold a couple of image rights for producing 5 or less prints for $200 each. They were sold to different individuals and neither balked at the price. For commercial not less than $500 was my asking price. Hope this helps.

A very difficult question,
First you have to consider the use,
Is it for direct profit use (photo of an item for sale) an editorial background shot, a cover photo, charity org. etc.
does the company have a budget?
Difficulty in taking the shots, specialized equipment needed, helpers needed to do the shot.
Then; are you willing to take a smaller fee to be able to build a professional portfolio?
First I would find out if there is a budget,
Second I would estimate your out of pocket cost.
Third; how many hours will you have to put into the job?
Forth; are there any post processing or retouching to do?
Fifth; are you required to supply Hard Copy Prints?
Sixth; travel expenses and meals or hotels.
No one can put a dollar figure on your work. Only you can do that.
With that being said, I try not to charge less than $35.00 an hour after expenses, I have gotten as much as $250.00 an hour.

Again, it comes down to the "Budget"
And what you are willing to take for them.
I just took some shots for our City Historical Society, it was a before and after theme.
It cost me money, for printing and mats.
If the person is a friend, $10.00 a piece would be fair. Anyone else $25.00 would be fair.
If you are too hoggish, and want $100.00 a piece, they will say forget it.
And probably feel sorry they asked you.
