Corel Paintshop Pro X9 vs. X6

Hi everyone. I have Paintshop Pro X6 and it works great. I've had Corel for a long time. I'm running an Intel i7core machine(home built) with Win7prox64 and 32gb of RAM. I have NO power concerns. Corel has a deal today for an upgrade to X9. My question is; Is there any reason I need to upgrade to X9? What does it do that X6 won't and besides just having the "Newest and Best," Is this worth the investment?

Thanks.

I think the upgrade is $40, I'd do it, I have X8 and decided to wait for X10, I've done all the upgrades each year for a while, found in general small improvements and a bit faster each year, as you have skipped 7 and 8, I think I'd do it, Bob

I believe they have improved Raw handling since V6. It might have been in V8 rather than V9.

Each version does seem to process images a little quicker, even when I haven't upgraded the computer.

Probably one of the best bargains in software ... except for the free ones.

Yep. I just upgraded for $29. Three versions behind is worth the bucks. Not that I need all the functions. I've barely scratched the surface. I used PS too long so I haven't fully upgraded my brain.

I think I upgraded for about $24. That price also included Aftershot 3 and some other program that makes slide shows. I haven't played with that yet though. For around $30, I'd upgrade.

I copied this from my post in another PSP question discussion. It doesn't answer the OPs answer but might add some useful information to the discussion.

I just purchased PrintShop Pro X9 Ultimate (from Corel directly) which is PS PRO X9 with more software bundled with it for $40 which is 50% off the Upgrade price of $80 which I qualified for as I had several previous versions of PSP. I downloaded the entire package of 8 files, about 1.5 GB. Then I saved them plus the Keys for two of the programs I copied from the website to a DVD and an external backup Hard drive. I am a computer wiz still at 80 years young so that helps a lot. I've used PSP since the turn of the century and love it.
