Does anybody know the difference between Elements 14 and 15 ? Why is 14 version more expensive? Is anything missing in Elm 15?

Thanks Miro

I tried Light zone for a while and found it to be slow and unintuitive.

Hello, all. I am fairly new at UHH. I have used a version of PSE for 8 years to do my post processing. It seems to do the things that I want and is reasonably priced. I'm currently on version 14. It has a glitch that won't do panoramas, but I go to an earlier version for that and then return to 14. I have gone through some earlier threads on PS CC and Lightoom vs Elements, but did not really get a definitive feel for if I should just stay with what I have. I would not want to pay for a monthly subscription to add another program. I shoot with a Canon 6D/16-35mm zoom and a Nikon D7200/18-200mm. You can check out a good sampling of my photos at https://500px.com/drg7771 to see if there are things that I could do better with my post processing. Do you think I am good with PSE 14, or is it worth it to change or add another program?

If you have upgraded your PSE every year at about $80/year, then you are averaging $6.66/year in upgrades. For $9.99/year, you can subscribe and get the best and it updates free any time there's an update or upgrade. Some updates fix bugs, some add new camera models shortly after any brand name manufacturer comes out with a new body, and the upgrades, are when they make major changes that require Adobe to install a brand new product and remove the old product. This happened recently when it went from version 2015.* to version 2017.*

Going with the best allows you to get both Photoshop CC and Lightroom CC with mobile versions and Adobe Bridge.

I do not disagree the monthly subscription for CC & Lightroom is a good deal if you need that kind of horsepower but Elements has a much shallower learning curve and for most of us who are not pro's or who do not shoot exclusively in RAW, Elements is a better choice. You can find Elements for $55 @ Costco right now and it will do everything from organizing, to RAW, to post processing.

I'd suggest sticking with what you know. Especially since it seems to be working well for you.

You can do panoramas in Lightroom and Photoshop, too... but Lightroom 6 costs $140 and Photoshop is now only available via the subscription.

I'm not sure why you can't do panoramas in LRE14. It's supposed to be able to do them, although they call it Photomerge (it's also called that in Photoshop).

Is it that Photomerge in PSE14 is causing problems? I saw some complaints about that.

I don't know if that's been addressed in Elements 15, which has only just been released in the last two or three weeks.

Elements 15 is on sale on Amazon right now for $40 (half price). Pretty surprising since it's brand new. Don't know if they've fixed the glitches with Photomerge, that some folks had noted with PSE 14.

I was able to get the pano function to work under the 'Guided' tab. I do most of my editing work (humbly) in the 'Expert' area and never tried it with 'Guided'.

Roy, your photography is very impressive. You have already been given some excellent advice. You may want to check this link to see how PSE 15 compares to earlier versions.

http://www.adobe.com/products/photoshop-elements/buying-guide.html

Also, I listed some of the new features in my blog post below that may help you.

Finally, PSE 15 definitely handles panoramas. Adobe has moved it to the Guided > Photomerge group to have all of the edits that use that technology in one place.
