This Blue Jay behaves like a Gray Jay. It will sociably and confidently take food from our hand.
We're not sure if it's male or female, but believe it's a youngster. It arrives every morning, just after sunrise, even in the middle of a snow storm, to receive a supply of peanuts in the shell.
Part of the routine is to land on a branch near our front door and screech loudly to announce that it is waiting.
Sandra responds, holding a handful of peanuts, and, the Jay takes them, sometimes two at a time, and stashes them far out in the yard. (The squirrels some times steal them).
Here is that Blue Jay, posing for me I swear.

What a beautiful shot of your friend, Pierre! I remember Jack the Bluejay that took food from Joe's hand.
Great shot of a beautiful bird waiting for a treat!

Joe and I exchanged short PMs back in May. He and Cheri were doing well. Joe peeks in occasionally to see what we're all doing.
He and other wildlife photographers have formed a group.
I miss him very much. Viewing his work is a valuable and true learning experience -- something that is not well appreciated on UHH. Joe to my knowledge does not criticize. He teaches by example -- like you.
I recall also that Jack would remove peanuts from Joe's mouth. Imagine!!!!!!
Thank you Donna.

A superb shot, Pierre, especially on download.
What a nice shot, Pierre! Amazing how tame some of the birds will become, given half a chance. Must be great fun to see him out there each morning!
