Herps, not herpes!

The most iconic frog of Malaysia. The only frog that can look grumpy but still handsome at the same time! Malayan Horned Frog / Long-nosed Horned Frog / Malayan Leaf Frog (Megophrys nasuta). <3 . West Malaysia.

A gorgeous Red-tailed Racer (Gonyosoma oxycephalum) I found some time ago, West Malaysia.

River Toad (Phrynoidis aspera), looking all grumpy, as always! Selangor, Malaysia.

You do wonders with that lens (I am assuming the Laowa 15mm). I have read a few reports on it and they all say it is a really challenging lens but it seems to be a pussycat in your hands. I love these shots as always.

Amazing. And yes, I first read the entry it as 'herpes'.

Thanks for the comments, Leicaflex, Brenda, Wayne, UXOEOD, Mark, Carol, David, Allen. Much appreciated.
Brenda - thanks. Right, the Laowa 15mm. Not an easy lens to use especially considering I had no prior experience with wide angle macro, plus it's fully manual. The aperture does not automatically close down when you press the shutter. I have to manually rotate the aperture ring on the lens (CCW for Canon) to get to close it down. More about it in my blog post about this lens here: http://orionmystery.blogspot.my/2016/05/laowa-15mm-wide-angle-macro-lens.html
Mark - LOL.

Kurt I just finished reading your blog post, and I came here and the shots are really amazing. You are so dialed in now compared to when you 1st started with that lens set up. The horned frog and red racer are flawless but my favorite is the Harlequin tree frog. They all seem to jump off the page. You were showing your working distance on the blog and I know it's not 1-1 but you still have to be really close to get those shots and that makes them all the better. All I could think of was that you were standing for those shots and still tack sharp! Great shots as always.

Thanks for the comments, trigger finger, Elliot, Shang, RWCRNC. Much appreciated.
trigger finger - thanks! Yes, still very very close even when at 1:3 or 1:4. A little scary when photographing venomous snakes!
