I saw the nest, took photos of mama and thought the nest was empty.
I couldn't get to it without getting ouches all over my arms because it was in a climbing rose.
We'll do crazy things for a picture. I put on a long sleeved sweat shirt to avoid the thorns, but the photo of the babies is way too soft. It's the best I could do even with long sleeves.
The good thing about building in a rose bush is that snakes and squirrels won't climb in there to get the babies.

I'm watching you!
great shots - especially the first one.

Thank you so much. I appreciate those kind words.
Sounds like a pretty smart momma bird to me. Thanks for sharing the photos. I had to laugh because i was thinking, "there's not too many people willing to climb a rose bush for photographs either." I appreciate your willingness to go the extra mile and share your results as well.
Awww, babies are sooo sweet! ;) very nice!

Thanks, Tina. If you had seen me getting that picture, you'd have LOL. I wasn't very close to the babies, but that climbing rose is huge and spread out all over me. I had a time getting my hair loose from the thorns and I didn't say one wordy dird!

Thanks for looking, MissStephie. I have left them alone for a couple of days. I plan to try again today.

Lucky stiff!
I was lucky again today, Tom. An Indigo Bunting came to my thistle feeder. I thought he'd be gone when I went to get my camera. He was, but he came back BEFORE I had time to clean the glass in the door. I will post him after I get back from my Chinese Dinner!
