Yellow Dawn

A gold fog morning that came just after one of my moon events. I tried a couple of crops then decided to leave it be, and let the group suggest things before I finished it up. I wished for more birds than the distant ones in the tree but so many of our water birds have left with the drought. This little slough was actually dredged a few weeks ago, just to collect a small patch of water for them while this drought plays itself out. Usually this is many acres of wetland.

All ideas, feedback and edits are welcome.

At least you're getting a bit of fog this autumn! And what could be more gorgeous than golden fog. Love the textures and mood of this one, Minnie.

I felt uncomfortable with the visual weight crowded on the left, so a flip and a trim and here is my thought:

(btw, folks should click on center of pic to view with black background. Huge difference, even better than downloaded and viewed on white. If you don't have it, go to "my profile" to activate the feature)

Hi, Min,
I see two images...both of which I like.
1. a tighter crop on trees with middle trunk on left vertical of "the thirds"(well, almost...)
2. marsh grasses and reflection...up-side-down

Dave, your close-up of the grasses and reflection is a beautiful find!

very nice image - and I like those crops also - that upside down really works!

Uncanny your ability to capture landscape images minniev. If anything I might crop the reflection up from the bottom to where it starts on the left.

Thank you Linda. My fog was all just on that one day, and I ran all over this end of the county till it burned off, so ya'll will be seeing a few more before I get done with 'em. This one was a bit more true yellow than the others I've seen (unfortunately UHH strips some of the subtleties we see at home on a decent monitor). Thank you for taking a run at a crop, and a flip too!

Thanks Dave for the crops and the comments. I am never reluctant to have multiple versions, and I often flip reflections so this idea fits my way of doing things.

Thank you Frank. I couldn't decide on whether to crop or where, so I really am glad to get some ideas. I felt like it might need something but I wasn't sure what. (It really needed a flock of buffleheads over there in the slough on the right, but alas, they did not materialize.)

I love the color. I am not bothered by the composition of the first shot; so I don't really see the need for Linda's crop and flip. Not that it doesn't work; but I really like the original and don't really see a need for a change. The fog sets the mood. Would be great if there were some more birds; but just the way it is is also fine.

Thank you Erich, I am kind of in the same mind. The other versions are nice, equally valid ways of interpreting. I've tried the suggested crops and flips, but ended up right back where I started, perhaps just due to my stubborn nature.
