Is this a real photo? What species? The beak looks insanely dangerous. Can't believe I never lost a finger when feeding them as a child in Maine.

Yes, two real photos!!! It is a crab-a-gull. I MUST have done half way OK. But the pros can put together a gull and a bull ... For the gull-a-bull. Thank you for teasing me Linda.

Bit more work on the lower bit of the palm to pollex and you've got it Piet.

Both versions are pretty cool Piet. A whole new critter, and cross-species no less. You're getting good at this stuff.

Had you thought of having it carrying something in its blaw or cleak or whatever that is? A clam perhaps? This new apparatus would save the trouble of dropping the clam on something hard to crack it, the deed could be done and the meal finished in record time.

made me look up pollex, can't quite put my thumb on it. I think I should have hinged it the opposite way also, but I like the top curve. Thank you for good feedback Frank.

too hard for ME to do. Other than photographing the bill again with perhaps a small shell in it. But would be very hard for me to get the light right.. But I did get a couple of shots of birds and shells. The gulls like their baubles. A crab makes and awful "plunk" sound when dropped from about 10 feet. I think they would take them higher, but theft becomes an issue.

thank you Linda, I think I made progress in selecting the background and creating a mask and then being able to add texture and such to the background only. Practice, practice practice... LOL

thank you for pointing me to that site. The dredging sucked them up from the bottom and threw them where the gulls could get fat. The crabs didn't have much of a chance.
