A rather small Blue Krait / Malayan Krait (Bungarus candidus) I found some time ago at night. Approximately 2 feet long. West Malaysia. Highly venomous.

A collage showing the many different shades of green on juvenile male as well as female Wagler's Pit Vipers (Tropidolaemus wagleri), and different shades of black and yellow on adult/sub-adult females. All from West Malaysia.
A Marvelous collection of reptile images and I hate snakes.
Great series Kurt. Is the Krait the same snake they commonly call the pacific sea snake? Use to run into them diving when I was younger. They use to follow us up when decompressing. A professor I had in collage was using them to try to figure out how they filtered out salt in the water to keep themselves hydrated. I really like the snake collage, very interesting color mix from a single species. By the way, I like snakes.
Another outstanding series Kurt. My favorite is the moth. It is an awesome shot!
Beautiful pictures! I don't mind finding venomous snakes, since that is when I can keep my eye on them.
Wonderful set. Nicely done.
Thanks for looking and commenting, infocus, Wayne, Carol, Mark, Douglass, kpmac. Much appreciated.
Wayne - no, this is a land krait. Sea Krait refers to the Laticauda sp.

Thanks Kurt, I noticed this one doesn't have a flat tail, other than that they look very similar with a slightly different head shape.
What a marvelous collection!!!
I know that the Krait is highly venomous, but what about the Keelback? It has that "innocent" look of a cobra relative.
Great set Kurt!! All are fantastic, your angleheads are amazing. The detail on them stands out, but it's there in all of them too. There just my favorites.
Thanks for looking and commenting, Allen, raymondh, SWFeral, trigger finger.
Wayne - that's correct! Oh btw, I used to be terrified of snakes until like 3 years ago. I decided to take up herping and to know the snakes better. I have totally overcome my fear of snakes, and in fact, really fond of them now!
SWFeral - Triangle Keelback is non venomous.
As always, a great set. I would wager quite a few of your subjects are venomous. Great treatment, please keep sharing and take care!
