Since there were lots of photographs of this past Sunday/Mondays full moon, I decided to post a picture of the cameras I used while photographing the moon instead of posting a picture of the moon.

The wall looks very nice in the background, nice exposure on it.

Was the camouflage helpful?

Although the moon couldn't care less about the camo, it supposedly does help when shooting birds in the woods or from a blind. Since shooting the moon didn't require it, I didn't use the skin piece that covers the expandable barrel.

I thought the same thing but it was set on flash. The tripods were set up in front of two cars and the bits of blue and red in the photo, parts of the cars, are spot on but the camo on the Sigma lens is way off, as is the black rubber on the tripods and gimbal. I believe that happened when I processed the raw image and made adjustments so the detail of Nikkor lens was more apparent.

That's definitely something different in a moon shot. I've seen the moon.

I never leave the camera strap attached when I have a camera on a tripod - afraid something will catch on it and pull the rig over.

You did not mention the equipment used, I'm very interested. Gosh, never seen a setup that will get photos of the moon through a wall like that. WOW, must know what you are using.

Didn't say it's a moon shot; said it's shot of cameras taking moon shots. I didn't post moon photos because they look a whole lot like all the other moon photos being posted.

I usually don't have the strap on the camera when mounted to the tripod either. I had been using that camera for handheld shots at the park near my home and when I set it down in the car, the strap was still attached. Had the camera and lens been in their cases prior to mounting on the tripod, there would not have been a strap attached. As it was, I removed the camera from the car and put it on the tripod. No strap on camera on tripod is good practice...

I really do not like that wall. The state assured us it would block the road noise from the 6 lane highway below. In their dreams...

Judging from the angle of the cameras on the tripods, it should be aparent they are aimed above the wall. The lens with the camo is a Sigma 150-600 Sport with the matching Sigma 1.4 teleconverter mounted to a Canon 5Dsr. The other camera is a Nikon D500 with Nikkor 200-500 lens and a Nikkor 1.4 teleconverter.

Couldn't really tell they were aiming above the wall. I was just being sarcastic; I know you were photographing the wall. You have a couple of nice setups. Which do you like the best and why?
