Super moon

Just a shot of the moon from my front yard (in case it's cloudy in your area). It doesn't seem all that different to me... Though it's probably about the best shot of the moon I have gotten to date.
I cropped it, converted it to monochrome, increased contrast and bumped the image size up a bit.

Nice shot. I agree, it doesn't seem that different to me either, except it did look a lot larger closer to moonrise.

The moon always seems bigger close to the horizon, though it's only because it has other things on the ground to compare it to, it's an optical illusion. I'm told if you take a picture with it close to the horizon where it looks bigger and then take one when it's higher in the sky and superimpose them they are the same size. Though I have not tried that personally. I do love the Illusion when it's just off the horizon and looks bigger though. :)

Nice job. On the Super Moon issue, I think that was the biggest astronomical non-event of the decade.
