Pink laurel and other flowers

Took a few pictures today, but most of them ended up in the trash. Overcast, not much light, handheld, not the ideal setup. I'll try again tomorrow and add. In the meantime, feel free to add your own. This photo of pink laurel is the best I got.

I have them days also... then I use PP to perk them up a bit. If you wouldn't mind I would like to put my twist on your photo but of course will NOT do so without your permission.

Nice. It probably was somewhere in between. I see you rotated it 90 degrees, too. Almost slipped by me.

I may have added too much color...

Compared to the reality, you probably did, but you didn't go overboard.

RMM, on flat days try using your flash at 1/8 or quarter power to boost the color and contrast.

Here's a few shots of my dying tulips an peonies

I actually like cloudy bright overcast days... it seems like it puts some snap in the colors and eliminates harsh shadows. My best soccer photos were during cloudy bright lighting conditions. I guess it depends on what you are shooting.

Another shot of laurel, better lighting. I did some of the post-processing with Nikon's ViewNX2. It does some good things, but it just about doubles the size of the NEF file. Anybody got an explanation for that? (Running on a Mac, don't know if it behaves the same way on a PC.)
