I have used Zeiss lens wipes personally AND professionally for over 12 years. Cheap, effective, convenient, and can be bought at any Walmart for only $5 per box of 100 wipes.

I use a good quality chamois. They clean extremely well, don't scratch and of course, don't leave any lint.

Thank you all.

Have ordered a pack of 60 of the Zeiss lens cleaners from B&H... had a store credit from them. Thank you again.

If you want to do it without liquids, look at LensPen.

Just a reminder: when cleaning the lens be sure to start in the center and work outward in a circular motion so you wind up at the edge of the lens.

I completely agree about using LensPen rather than liquid cleaners or wipes It has a soft activated charcoal felt pad (at least I think that's what it is!) at one end and a brush at the other. You remove superficial dust with the brush first, and then lightly rub the greasy fingerprint with the felt pad - and bingo the finger print is gone! Its entirely lifted off, and not just smeared around like so many cleaners do. In my experience it leaves the lens surface absolutely sparkling, without a trace of the offending fingerprint. Much, much better than cleaning fluids or wipes, and completely safe for coated camera lenses. Can't recommend it enough.

Same here. Initially bought them for my glasses, but also safe for lenses. They work great!

I use a lens pen, they are compact and have a brush at one end and a lens cleaner at the other.

Right. That's the standard for lens cleaning - basically alcohol on a cloth.

Richard, I use ROR exclusively. I have the Zeiss wipes and find that they can also leave a residue at times. The ROR and a lens tissue have never left me down, and to me it is the best lens cleaner on the market. Gary http://www.ror.net/

I ruined a pair of coated eyeglass lenses using the Zeiss cleaning wipes. The lenses were under warranty and replaced at $20 per lens. I asked the seller prior to use if it would be safe to use the Zeiss wipes on my glasses and was told yes. The eyewear retailer explained later that the Zeiss wipes are an excellent product, but should not be used for coated eyeglass lenses. However, it is just fine to use them on sunglasses.
