While I was cooking dinner for my family last night, my wife yelled out ,"Check out the moon, it's so big and bright". After looking out the window and viewing it, I said, "I gotta get that shot". Grabbed my camera and tripod and off i went. First time photographing the moon. Canon 7D II - Canon 70-200mm L II w/ 2x ex at 400mm f5.6 1/500 ISO 100
Nice shot! Shooting a day or two early you will get better definition because the moon is no so bright. 😀
Sorry to say this but this is a very bland, uninteresting photo. See the post by df____ something or other, in this same forum. You need background in order to establish size. Be it natural background, tree etc or a building such as df chose, you need background. Also try to shoot while there is still some blue in the sky. Not always possible but if you catch a rising moon it will be.
My objective was only to shot the moon and all its splendor. True beauty needs no assistance to defy itself, but thanks for the advice.
