Go on eBay and look for "Nikon to NEX adapter". They are cheap and work well--the Chinese generics. Look for one that adapts Nikon G lenses if yours do not have diaphragm rings. I even have one with a focusing helicoid to extend close focus capabilities.
Go to Brian Smiths website. He has a piece on lens adapters for the Sony Mirrorless cameras. I use a Commlite ENF-E1. Works well.

Oh sorry--if you want to preserve auto functions forget the generics. Check Metabones. They also have a line of Speed Booster adapters that fit a full frame image onto a crop sensor, and increase the speed in the process.
However be warned that with Nikon lenses many auto functions may not work. For some reason they work better with Canon lenses, and even then the AF is slowed considerably.
The website will provide details, including compatible lenses and limitations with them.

I have not tried the Fotasy. I do have the Fotodiox "Professional" adapter and have used it on my a6000 and a6300. It works well in manual mode. In fact I used it with my Nikon 400mm last night to shoot the moon. Have also used it with my Rokinon fisheye (Nikon mount) on many occasions. If I had more money, I would get a Commlite or Vello, but they are $400.
I am very interested in an adapter for the sony a6300 also (I am patiently waiting for the a6500 (due Dec 6th) and I assume that if it works for the 6300 it will work for the 6500) and I would like to have an adapter for my nikon 18-140 dx lens that maintains the auto focus. Sony's adapter cost $400. I would prefer something about 1/2 that price or a little less. Is there such?

I believe it is a manual connection only. Autofocus and aperture control will not work.
Some have a slider to manually adjust aperture but you won't know where it is and your image in the viewfinder will darken with increasing f-stop.
It will allow autoexposure.

You can use them in autoexposure modes. The focusing is manual, though.
I have one of the Sony A-6000 Adapters for Canon Lenses... Most of the Canon lenses work good. There is a little problem with the autofocus with some of the lenses that I use....
Perhaps Nikon would be a little better.
The adapter for the Sony A-6000 is a good deal -- If I were you I would give it a try.
They are cheap enough on ebay, but they only work with the lenses that have click stops. They are not automatic, and you need to adjust the aperture on the lens.
They work great, and Sony has that thing that when you focus a MF lens, you get shading to show what is in focus.
Woke great, if you like manual focus.
