This photo was taken in Florida and #1 is color, #2 with tone mapping and #3 in black and white. Your thoughts and comments.

I'm not sure what "tone mapping" is, but it does help the mid tones...I still like the vibrance (or depth of color) of the 1st one the best. :)
Its used for HDR, one of the steps is tone mapping, I di'nt want to make it a complete HDR so the tone mapping helps to bring out the details in the shadows. Thanks for commenting.
My thoughts:
1.) Good shot. Colorful, clean, sharp, detailed.
2.) Yuk...what happened to the dynamic range?
3.) Now it's hard to separate the items visually due to no color; makes for a busy shot.
I kind of like the original a little better.
Might be fun to show the B&W with yellow-red-green-blue filters.
I see what you mean rpavich and thanks for your input.
I like the photo, that said it means I like all three. However the first one being closer to "real" appeals to me the most. Each could be used in a particular genre. The tone mapping has a tendency to eliminate depth and the 3d effect by decreasing the shadow areas and bringing down highlights. The Black and White reminds me of a movie poster. Interesting differences of the same photo and differing reactions to each.

I'd vote for #2 (tone mapping). However, the plane seems out of place. ALYN
Wow What a coincidence I clicked on this photo !!! I used to work there, Royal Pacific Resort for Loews Hotels, I actually open and worked for Loews Hotels Portofino Bay Hotels there at Universal for 12 yrs....LOL !
It's a small world. I love vacationing there. Good food and fun places for adults. Hoping to get back there this year.

#1 seems kind of crowded. If the plane is the subject, it sort of gets lost. The contrast is kind of low.
#2 looks like a bad postcard. The colors are just off.
#3 has possibilities, the plane stands out better. Composition still suffers from too much going on.
Just an opinion.

Regarding the overall composition, if you could have gotten a little closer, you'd have had less "stuff" intruding from the sides and seen more of the plane. I have no idea what the limitations were when you were setting up to take the shot - barbed wire, guard dogs, black helicopters, the usual nuisances for a photographer.
