Tornado touch down shots.
A few Ugly regulars will know of my two passions, the second being cloud and weather pics. Several have PM'd me to repost some of the touchdown shots I posted lasy year, so here they are.
I was out photographing a bad storm when in my viewfinder I saw debris flying and thought,"Thats not normal" called 911 to report the severe wather and the tornano ( cat 1 thank God) touched down 20 or 30 yards away. I fforgot to go inside and kept taking pics. Here are a few for you to see the destruction even a minor storm can wreak! Incidently 13 houses were totalled, 37 badly damaged and only one elderly lady sufferred a broken leg!

great photos Ian. hope to see more
Very nice set. It's amazing what Mother Nature can do. I've seen different degrees of damage in my state in areas that I travel and it is always different and amazing how nature reacts.
Boy, a lot of destruction. Love the double rainbows. Also like your first two cloud pictures, like the intense color. Thanks for sharing with us.
Excellent set and we moan about our weather.

Your welcome Gidgette and hope you dont get involved with tornados. We just got notice of a possible hurricane coming our way. Ironically my house was not damaged in the tornado and many people commented how God was on my side. Sadly though a few months later, While Gods back was turned my house burned and I ended up in hospital. Almost a $100,000 of damage was done $65,000 to the house and all my stuff accounted for $35.000.. So it was a bad year for the communitry!
Ian
The rainbow shot was amusing, going into a wrecked house.

Thanks Gidgette, I am fine, the ambulance guys only wanted me for THE $1200 FEE!

Man! Isn't it ironic that the majority of tornadoes hone in on trailer parks?
Nice shots and set Ian and nice to see you again. I don't think I could get that close.
Your pics of the sky are incredulous. Your other pics really show the devestation of the tornado.

Okay, I'll bite. What happened 30 minutes later? Glad you came out okay.
That is an amazing series of photos Ian!!
Sorry to hear of the loss of your house and your injuries, that is sad news. :-(
On one bright note, it was good to see that the plastic deer appeared to emerge unscathed. :-)
Magnificent set as always
