Thank you to all our veterans

Thanks ladies and gentlemen for protecting us from tyranny and helping the rest of the world. Whether you've been in live fire action or were a clerk, cook or mechanic, etc... you were there for freedom and the American way. Besides protecting us militarily, many of you were/are fighting illicit drugs, illegal immigration, and other criminal acts. Every time I see a veteran's cap I look under it to see what a real hero looks like - average men and ladies who were willing to risk it all. Thank you.

Sometimes I wonder where all of this warm and fuzzy feely ( trying to be nice here ) " stuff " was back in the '60's & "70's? Nobody bent over backwards to do anything for the vets back then, now everybody is your buddy. Strange how that works, kind of a two face operation. Take it however you want. The Korean vets got the same, they were just ignored.

I can tell you how I felt in the late '60's when I picked up my Marine buddy, who was also a Navy veteran, from the Cleveland Terminal (train). A hippy approached him and spit on his uniform. The Cleveland cop who witnessed the ensuing massacre told me to get my friend out of the area.

My brother was killed in 1960 while involved with training some Cubans. I listened to civilian friends and neighbors criticize my dead brother for being involved. He was active Army following orders. I have grieved his loss for 56 years. I am proud of him and the Army's accomplishments. Our political leaders' planning (or lack thereof) lead to his demise.
