Living up here in Barrow, Alaska and hoping to get some pics of the Northern Lights with a point and shoot. Any info or suggestions would be happily received. I have a Panasonic DMC-FZ40 which I am learning to use. Have pics of owls and foxes which I am happy with but now want to look to the sky.
I'd love to get some shots of the Northern Lights, too. I live in Palmer but it's been years and years and years since I drove up the highway to Coldfoot as far as I've ever been.
I don't know about shooting with a point-n-shoot at night. Will it allow you to keep the shutter open. Have you checked specifically for photographing the Northern Lights.
