UHH has so much good information for every level of photographer. No person can know everything, although some members might deny that. I pore through UHH every day and am grateful to all of you who share your experience and knowledge.
Having said that, there seems to a small number of members who get their jollies from negative comments, insults and otherwise non-productive postings.
I wish that they would either clean up their individual acts or else be thrown off by UHH moderators.
Anger management suggestions, take your meds suggestions and such comments really don't belong here.

There will always be our resident trolls. Their names have changed over the years but their contributions to the forum has stayed consistent. I keep a running list of them and ignore their posts. The far larger majority of members have positive comments and useful critiques. I pay attention them not the trolls. All things considered I think this is one of the best photography forums on line. I just unsubscribe from the attic when I've had too much.

If people ignored the trolls instead of feeding them, there would be less of a problem. You know the kids who throw a tantrum just to get attention, right?
A few of the posters who love to say outrageous things have admitted to feeling that online users are not real people. That should tell you a lot right there. They are not worth a moment of your time feeling bad or upset.

As mentioned, the Attic section was created so moderators could request Admin to move disagreeable threads out of specialty sections. Often, individual negative posts within a proper thread are deleted by specialty section moderator, but only Admin can do so in the core sections. Any member can petition Admin to move an objectionable thread out of any core section, but that is subject to Admin approval.
