While walking near a local shoreline where I live I spotted this. It was a skiff with a stump in it?? The ocean was like glass, so I took the picture. Those are three sea ducks at far left.

Pretty unique image. What strikes me, though, is the wonderful texture in the water. It is still, as you say; but there are ripples that capture the subtle light. I like it very much.

A little whimsy is good for all of us. The water is great, looks like some kind of reflective iridescent metal. If it was more than a for-fun shot, I would want to work on the halos around the dark edges of the boat and the sticks/strings. Did you ever figure out what the story was behind this? I'd have take this shot too!
